Road Traffic Act - Trailer Overhang
To be exempt, a copy of the regulation must be carried with car towing the trailer. Furthermore, if the load projects further
than 1.2 metres behind the trailer, a brightly coloured flag measuring a minimum of 300mm x 300mm must be fitted to delineate
the edge of the load. If the trailer is driven at night, a red light visible from a distance of 200 metres must also be fitted.

A Level One Coaching course has been scheduled for Thursday the 12th of
January at the Grange SLSC from 6:30-9:00pm.
The course will have both a theory and practical component, with the practical component boat focussed.
However, the course is available to anyone wishing to obtain a Level One Coaching qualification.
In July 2011, SLSA released a revised Water Safety Policy, for all water based SLS activities.
The policy requires a Risk Assessment to be performed prior to each water activity.

The Navy Series kicked off at Moana on Sunday the 27th of November
with a great turn out of over 40 crews. The series will
continue with Round 2 at Christies Beach on the 11th December, Rounds 3
& 4 at Robe on the weekend of 17th & 18th December and the 5th and final
round

New regulations have been put in place regarding trailers built specifically for the purpose of transporting
rowing boats, canoes and kayaks, whereby such trailers are exempt from the section of the Road Traffic Act dealing with overhang.

The first round of the Brighton Short Course took place at Pt Augusta on Saturday the 30th
of October, with 30 crews taking part.
A fantastic turn out, given the late decision to schedule the
event independently. Well done to all crews that made
the trip up.
